Doulton Pottery
Founded circa 1820
By Doulton & Watts making stoneware jugs and ornamental bottles.
1854 John Watts retired and the firm became Doulton & Co.
1862 Henry Doulton started to experiment in decorated pottery, using students from the nearby Lambeth School of Art.
An interesting feature of these wares is that the pieces were signed with the personal mark of the decorator and often includes the date.
